This is a neat little tool to help you figure out the proposed tax changes for the top 4 presidential candidates (they didn’t have enough information on Kasich’s plan). Just type in your info at this site and see the change. This is mine.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Kinja'd!!!

Obviously these are just rough numbers based on proposals. But it definitely backs up my opinion of FUCK SANDERS(flame suit on). While I hate every single one of the candidates, Hillary doesn’t look too bad.

Ah yes, taxes, BIG GUBERNEMT TAKING ALL R MONEY.

The amount you pay is not the thing you should worry about, what you get back (services, those around you who have less can live without issues, health) is the real worry.

Someone who discovered that the only job that they could hold by the time that they were 40 was as a politician, isn’t really a good fit. There is a reason why he has child laboring phone banks, because he caters to the jobless. The jobless who don’t want to work. The jobless who thinks they deserve a handout. It does not work like that, nor should it.

Having been an employer at one time, single payer is the future. Lots of families would be damn happy to pay $4300 for a single payer system, and I sure as s%#$ would have been happy not to have to cough up 15K/family when I owned part of a small business. Current health care system is badly broken, and 1992 Hillary was right about getting rid of it. I don’t really like Bernie either, but he’s right on about this.

Unless an employee makes $200K/yr, I would have been ahead under Bernie’s plan, other than personal tax increases, which I would be fine with. ACA should have been single payer. At least it got rid of the lifetime cap and pre-existing condition garbage, which was hellish for those of us who had to run a small group plan. You have to be in insurance sales or health care admin to believe that the 30% going to admin is good value. I’ve had private insurance, Canadian government insurance and Tricare (U.S. military government insurance, essentially Medicare). Canadian plan is best, followed closely by Tricare. Government insurance works and is a million times better than the pretty much only useful for toilet paper coverage of private insurance.

Kinja'd!!! The Dummy Gummy > someassemblyrequired
03/26/2016 at 17:19

Kinja'd!!!1

Not in either but I’ve had to deal with the costs and account for it. Learn some finance or read the the policy because one or the other or both you don't understand. His plan is atrocious and so is the ACA.

Also it affects people way less than $200k. It would impact severely the average salaries ($50k). By severally I mean that people making 50k is already a strained salary so adding two more taxes on top of it would strain the budget even further.

I’ve read it. Would be $6200 per $100K of salary. Average family premium (this is nearly a decade ago): $16K, probably $20K now. So closer to $250-300K in salary before I am out of pocket as an employer. Also try coughing up your plan max on $50K (probably $3-5K in after tax money). I’ve seen someone lose a spouse due to a sudden serious illness and then have to struggle with paying out their plan max down one salary. I would pay a pretty significant amount in extra taxes to make sure that never happens to anyone else.

I tried it as single and married but as if I’m filing separately and in both cases I’ll pay about a month and a half worth of wages more than now. I did filing jointly adding mine and the so’s wages and together we’d pay what is equivalent to 3 months of my wages more for Sanders. What’s even more depressing than how much politicians take from me now, is looking at how much higher it’ll go if I actually manage to start doing well. The idea of forking over 40-50% earnings and still being told it’s not the “fair share” is insane.

Kinja'd!!! someassemblyrequired > The Dummy Gummy
03/26/2016 at 18:00

Payroll tax is on all income, but those folks are paying parts of the premiums now and cost-shares/deductibles. The 2.2% would replace the premiums and cost-shares/deductibles. That would be $1100 on $50K, which is less than most deductibles (and that’s before any premiums). Re: 180 - my biggest issue with the current system is the burden on individuals and families. I’d be happy to see a system where they can just show coverage and only have to worry about getting better. Saving bucks on health care benefits and not having to deal with the benefit is a bonus for employers. Most of the cost of Sanders plan is borne by the health care insurance industry (which ceases to exist) and tax changes for the wealthy. It’s a moot point though, as Hillary will be the nominee.

I know that’s the party line in Entitlement 101, but I’ve worked with those eeeevil rich (from upper middle class professionals to actual fat cats), and there’s no way to hide income like that.

When your medical practice, law office, or Fortune 500 processes payroll, they send the IRS 40-50% off the top. At the end of the year you may get to ask for some back, or get told you owe more.

Telling you your boss’ boss is why your taxes are so high is a lie to breed class warfare. He’s probably paying double your rate, government just spends so much it’s still not enough (and never will be).

Kinja'd!!!

Combining income with my wife as we’ve done since married (and with both of us now working one full-time with full benefits and one part-time job each, and having both gotten promotions and raises last year), we owe Uncle Sam about $3K this year, yet we both took the extra jobs because we wanted more income to be able to both save and spend. We own a house and 3 cars (a 2016, 2007, and a 2003), have no debt, yet at the end of the month our spendable money is only slightly higher without the extra jobs, but our savings and investments are notably greater. Our tax system desperately needs an overhaul, as two adults in the 25-35yo bracket working 70+ hours weekly each should have a lot more take-home pay, and not need a month’s wages to pay to Uncle Sam (yes, we double-checked all the withholdings, and we actually have extra withheld because we’d rather pay more over time than have a sudden bill like this year’s). I cannot fathom how Sanders’ or Clinton’s tax plans would benefit us until we had kids, and even then it would be a stretch, as we’re self-reliant and plan on private education for our kids.

I don’t know that I agree. Most are demonstrably worse, but saying something is better than the worst and therefore other ideas can’t be explored or refined is a cop out. Ultimately though, it’s a pretty silly tangent since taxes aren’t anti-capitalism, and some public services just can’t turn a profit to an extent that any sane company would want to go after them.
